By 2025, Lake Grimsel will be home to a once-in-a-century structure.
A new dam wall is being constructed in front of the existing Spitallamm dam to replace it. The guided tour at the Grimsel Hospiz starts at the UNESCO/KWO Visitor Centre and takes you through intricate tunnels and impressive viewing platforms to see the construction site from close quarters. Take a closer look at this unique construction project in the mountains – located almost 2,000 metres above sea level. Our guides are looking forward to accompanying you on this tour and giving you some interesting background information on the construction site, the entire Grimselwelt area and hydropower in the region.
