This day tour begins with a guided tour of the power station in Innertkirchen. Our guides will show you the impressive underground power stations and explain how the electricity for over a million people is generated here.
For lunch you can choose from various restaurants in Innertkirchen.

After lunch, you are on your own and can complete the afternoon programme independently.
On the digestive walk you will reach the Aare Gorge, where the power of the water has created a unique backdrop.
Finally, after another short hike, you take the Reichenbachfall-Bahn up to the waterfall. This is where the famous detective Sherlock Holmes challenged his arch-enemy Professor Moriarty to a fight – the fierce scuffle ended with a fall into the depths. Exactly into this waterfall!

Hike to the Aare Gorge, visit to the Aare Gorge
Hike to the Reichenbachfall-Bahn valley station and return journey on the Reichenbachfall-Bahn.
End approx. 17.00 pm in Meiringen
Information
On the guided tour of the Innertkirchen 1 and 1A power stations, you will be accompanied by our visitor guides and given comprehensive information about hydropower. You can visit the remaining programme points individually; these are no longer guided.

The prices include a tour of the power station, admission to the Aare Gorge and return journey on the Reichenbachfall-Bahn.
Number of participants
The tour is organised for groups of 4 or more. A maximum of 25 people can take part.
Starting point and journey
The tour starts at the main KWO building in Innertkirchen.
Innertkirchen is accessible by train, bus and car. The starting time is adjusted to public transport

Physical prerequisite
Die Besichtigung findet The tour takes place on foot and partly underground. A good physical condition is required to walk several stairs.
Our facilities are only partially handicapped accessible. They are not suitable for prams. Animals are not allowed.
Equipment
An audio system and a safety waistcoat will be provided. We recommend sturdy shoes and a warm jacket. Temperatures in our facilities range between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius.
Minimum age
The minimum age is ten. Children aged six and above can participate if accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian.
Language
Tours are carried out in German. English may be available on request.
