Experience the Alps first hand: Take a trip through alpine pastures dotted with flowers, smell the rich aroma of herbs in our alpine garden, cross babbling mountain streams and explore dark forests. You can also visit a dairy and watch the cheesemaker in action as he works. All this and much more is on offer at this three-star superior hotel, with fantastic rooms found in the main building (which is over 500 years old), Steinhaus building and chalet. This triumvirate of buildings comes together in perfect harmony in a unique location in the heart of nature, just a few minutes’ walk away from the Gelmerbahn and spectacular suspension bridge over the Handeck Falls gorge.

Outdoor pool
In this haven of relaxation on the way to the Grimsel Pass, guests are even happy when the sun isn’t shining. Cool weather doesn’t mean a boring day indoors here. Quite the opposite, in fact – a few raindrops make a swim in the heated outdoor pool even more appealing.
Alpine garden
Even today, there are still places where you can sit, relax and forget the world around you. Behind the hotel, nestled among tall pine trees and under the majestic Ärlenhorn and Gärstenhörner mountains, you can kick back, listen to the babbling mountain brook and take in the fresh mountain air.
Spring water
Our water comes from one of Europe’s most water-rich areas – the Grimsel region. This forms the watershed between the North Sea and Mediterranean.
The entire Nature Resort Handeck is supplied with spring water from the Handeckfluh. Whether showering, bathing, cooking or enjoying a refreshing drink straight from the tap – this valuable resource comes from the heart of nature.
