The Oberaar area is a sun-drenched high valley, easy to reach via the six-kilometre panoramic road from the Grimsel Pass. Starting from the Restaurant and Berghaus Oberaar, the hike takes you over the Oberaar dam wall and along the north shore of Lake Oberaar to the foot of the Oberaar glacier in around one hour. Here, there are crystal-clear mountain lakes, moorlands, whistling marmots and a pair of circling eagles. In the Oberaar region, nature and technology go hand in hand.
